George Roe & Co

George Roe & Co. is an Irish Whisky brand launched by Diageo in March 2017. It is one of the most recent innovations from the multinational leader in the distribution and production of not only spirits but also wines and beers. The brand was created following a precise design by Diageo, which aims to develop a new segment for Irish Whisky, aware of the increasing demand that the market has been highlighting in recent years. The name chosen for this venture, George Roe, is a tribute to the Irish production tradition: George was indeed the most famous Whisky producer in the 19th century, whose distillery extended over more than 17 acres of land in Dublin, in the heart of the district dedicated to distillation and beer production, where, at the time, the name Guinness was already resonating. Although it is a very recent project, Diageo already has plans to develop a new and larger distillery, right in this historic district of Dublin, which is expected to be fully operational by mid-2019.

The Whisky George Roe & Co. comes from a great effort by the Diageo team, particularly from Caroline Martin, the master blender who, after more than a hundred attempts, managed to achieve the formula that satisfied her the most for the creation of this new product. It is indeed a precise blend that comes from a selection of prestigious Irish Whiskies obtained from the distillation of malt and grain, aged in barrels that previously contained Bourbon. Cold filtration, during the bottling phase, is not performed, thus maintaining an authentic and expressive organoleptic profile in the final product, rich in personality and character.

George Roe & Co. is a brand of the latest creation, which currently includes only one product in its range, the Irish Whisky. It is a bottle that is enveloping on the palate, characterized by a particularly dry sip, which in the finish presents a slight astringency, derived from the tannic component released by the wood during maturation. A new label that, we are sure,

will not take long to establish itself internationally.
