Gonet-Médeville

Gonet-Médeville is a family-run business, whose name comes from the two owners, Xavier Gonet and his wife Julie Médeville. A couple that is decidedly close-knit, who, at the beginning of the new millennium, decided to dive headfirst into a new adventure focused on wine. In reality, however, for both of them, wine is not a novelty, as it has been flowing in the veins of their respective families for a long time. The Médeville family is indeed famous for owning Château Gilette, renowned for producing great vintage Sauternes, while the Ginet family has an important tradition as Champagne producers in Le Mesnil. Therefore, Xavier and Julie are anything but unaware of the fantastic world of viticulture, and they can benefit from the experiential baggage of their respective families. A true treasure not to be wasted, which leads each year to the creation of precise and punctual labels, vibrant and concrete expressions of the terroirs from which they come.

The vineyards of the Gonet - Médeville winery extend over a total of about 12 hectares of vines, divided among eight municipalities, included in three Grand Cru, specifically Mesnil-Sur-Oger, Oger, and Ambonnay, and in another 5 villages classified as Premier Cru. A beautiful puzzle of territories, which allows the winery to give rise to a very varied range, spanning from Champagne to Bordeaux reds. Among the rows, the symbolic grape varieties of each area can be recognized, from Pinot Noir to Chardonnay, passing through Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines are cultivated in total respect for the ecosystem and the surrounding environment, without the use of any chemical products. The philosophy of Xavier and Julie aims to reach the harvest with healthy and natural grapes, limiting themselves to accompanying, even in the winemaking process, what has already happened during the past year in the vineyard.

Every year, from the walls of the Gonet – Médeville winery, several labels are born, which, precisely respecting the areas of origin, are able to provide a nice choice for enthusiasts, from bubbles to reds. Each bottle is the result of expertise, passion, and the desire to
