The Joaquin winery, despite its typically French-sounding name, is located in the vibrant centre of Irpinia, specifically in the Avellino production area. This is where the three renowned DOCGs of the Campania region - Fiano di Avellino, Greco di Tufo and Taurasi - meet and blend, reaching truly excellent levels of quality. The man behind Joaquin is Raffaele Pagano, predestined to become a wine producer, following in his father's footsteps, with the support of enologists and consultants of the calibre of Sergio Romano and Maurizio De Simone.

The vineyards bearing the Joaquin brand are diverse and varied, all of them profoundly appreciated in the wine glass and all belonging to a single, ambitious history. The vineyards in Irpinia are located around the winemaking cellar in Montefalcione on clay and limestone soils. In Partenopoli, on volcanic soils, are the old Aglianico vines, that survived the devastation of the phylloxera. Two centuries of vines and life! Why remain anchored to dry land when you can easily sail out to sea? This was Raffaele's idea when, in 2009, he decided to start a project to recover the varieties and old vines of the island of Capri, specifically in the area of Anacapri and Migliera, a territory with a great vocation and a vivid manifestation of island enology.

The Joaquin winery's first harvest was in 2006, when it produced just over 2000 bottles of Aglianico vinified in white. The quantity has increased over time, without compromising on quality and sophistication. Raffaele Pagano has a crazy and ingenious spirit: he cultivates and vinifies his grapes with the intention of ensuring that no wine is released on the market that is identical to any other. The objective is to enhance the rhythm of the vintage in the truest and most authentic way, which is naturally different every year. Every year brings a new wine and every year a new project. These are unique pieces, mostly produced in limited edition bottles, of exclusive value and unparalleled ageing potential. A brand that you will start to hear more and more about, which has all the necessary characteristics to elevate the name of Irpinia in the world!
