The Krug maison, which is synonymous with the elegance and charm of sparkling wines, is one of the most important and well-known Champagne producers in the world. The brand's origin dates back to 1843, when Joseph Krug established his own production company, abandoning a glorious career that had seemed already consolidated at Jacquesson, which was considered at the time to be the most prestigious and important maison in France. Joseph was a young German man who had moved from the Rhineland to Paris in search of fortune and had been offered a job at the most prestigious Champagne company, where he soon became a partner and eventually married into the Jacquesson family. The bold decision to establish a new winery based in Reims was motivated by his desire to produce the best Champagne in the world and to introduce his own style and ideas into the production process, which was something Joseph had not yet been allowed to do in his career. So with all his ambition and obsession for the competitive world of French bubblies, Joseph, with the help of his friend, the merchant Hippolyte de Vivès, began to create a range of vintages, each made from grapes from a separate plot of land with a distinct character. In fact, the idea behind his choice was to give visibility to sans année wines, to the detriment of the millesimé wines that were so popular in those years. As a result, his line was divided into two categories: the non-vintage wines, which were the result of the chef de cave's skill in blending, and the vintage wines, which were instead based on what nature had to offer that year. The rest of the story consists of growing successes that led the winery to become a symbol of Champagne.

Today the Krug winery is managed by Olivier, who represents the sixth generation of the family, although it is owned by LVMH, the famous luxury group. The working processes strictly respect traditional methods and the company philosophy has remained faithful to that of its illustrious founder, expressing the best characteristics of the individual vineyards (over 250 plots, including the Clos du Mesnil and Clos d'Ambonnay) and of the individual vintages. The legendary Grand Cuvée bottles, which are the result of 20 years of work, are joined by the vintage labels, which are often linked to a single vineyard or a single grape variety.

Every bottle from the Krug cellars has a number on the label that explains its history, the season, how it was made, the preservation method and other suggestions for tasting and pairing. A symbol of luxury and impeccable elegance, Krug Champagne is one of the best expressions of the famous French wine, providing not only bubbles, but rare and unforgettable experiences.
