Luca Canevaro

The Luca Canevaro winery is a young and interesting reality that has recently emerged in the panorama of Italian wine, establishing itself in a short time thanks to a production of labels with an artisanal character, made in a simple and genuine way. The estate was created in 2016, starting from a family-run agricultural business that has long been present in the Colli Tortonesi area, a region located in the southern part of Piemonte, nestled between Liguria, Lombardia, and Emilia. The sunny hillside exposures and the mild climate, which is already influenced by the marine breezes that deeply rise into the inland, offer ideal conditions for viticulture. The soils are very suited, composed of limestone and clay marls, with the presence of skeleton. In this land, both white grape varieties: Timorasso, Cortese, Moscato, and Favorita, as well as red grape varieties, particularly Barbera and Dolcetto, have always been cultivated. However, the rediscovery and enhancement of this territory is mainly due to the initiative of some local winemakers who, in the 1990s, decided to focus on the recovery and enhancement of Timorasso, until it became the ambassador of the territory.

The Luca Canavero estate extends over about ten hectares, cultivated at an altitude of about 250-350 meters above sea level. In the countryside, the principles of certified organic farming are followed, using only sulfur and copper for treatments in the vineyard, without resorting to chemical products. From the very beginning, the philosophy of the winery has aimed to maintain a strong connection with the territory and its customs. For this reason, it has decided to prioritize the cultivation of Timorasso as the symbolic grape variety of the company, alongside some parcels of Cortese and Barbera. The range of wines has a
