The Derthona 'Cà degli Olmi' by Luca Canevaro is an intense and aromatic white wine made from Timorasso, an indigenous grape variety native to the Colli Tortonesi. On the palate, it is fresh and intense, with good structure, and a enveloping sip supported at the finish by a pronounced savory and mineral vein, which returns to the nose in a wide and fragrant bouquet where notes of peach, sage, and citrus peel stand out.

The Derthona ‘Cà degli Olmi’ represents the flagship white wine of the Piedmontese producer Luca Canevaro, made according to an approach that respects the expression of the grape variety and the territory. Timorasso is the most representative grape of the Colli Tortonesi, a protagonist of the viticultural renaissance of the area since the late 1980s. Recently, the Derthona subzone was established within the Colli Tortonesi denomination, conceived to highlight the district of the municipality of Tortona, aptly called Derthona in Roman times, a prime area for Timorasso.

Luca Canevaro Derthona ‘Cà degli Olmi’ is a pure expression of Timorasso from 20-year-old vines cultivated under certified organic farming. The grapes come from the most suitable areas cultivated by the estate and have grown on predominantly clayey soils located at an altitude between 300 and 350 meters above sea level. Following the manual harvest, there is a careful selection of the bunches and subsequent pressing.soft, with the must thus obtained being channeled into stainless steel tanks for controlled temperature alcoholic fermentation. Also in steel, there takes place the maturation of 12 months on the fine lees, during which periodic batonnage is performed to suspend the solid particles.

The Derthona Colli Tortonesi ‘Cà degli Olmi’ by Luca Canevaro is bright straw yellow with brilliant golden flashes. Vivid hints of yellow peach, aromatic herbs, and citrus zest describe the olfactory panorama, adorned with slight mineral notes. On the palate, it is dry, intense, and structured, with a pleasant freshness that accompanies the savory and mineral finish. Timorasso is known for its surprising longevity, and this label is no exception.
