In the area of Barolo, with several vineyards spread over the territory, Mauro Mascarello, great-grandson of the founder, has been running the family-run Giuseppe Mascarello winery for 60 years, operating for more than a century and a half in the beautiful Langhe region. The illustrious surname, a full-blooded Piedmontese, as well as carrying a wine-making experience that few can boast, is an absolute guarantee of quality, accuracy and traditional workmanship. Mauro, who has been in the cellar since childhood, is supported today by his wife Maria Teresa, accountant, and their children Elena and Giuseppe, who take care of production. It was Mauro himself, back in the 1970s, who was among the first to bottle Barolo from a single vineyard.

Giuseppe Mascarello winery owns several vineyards totalling 13 hectares: from the historic Monprivato vineyard in the commune of Castiglione Falletto, active since 1666 and purchased by the Mascarello family in 1904, to the more recently acquired sites. Here the vines are trained according to strict rules in order to obtain the best results and a yield that does not exceed 60/65 quintals per hectare: very short dry pruning in winter, thinning out in summer, manual harvesting, elimination of imperfect bunches, limited use of plant protection products and fertilisers, no use of herbicides, natural organic fertilisation. In the Monprivato vineyard we also find a special selection of a Nebbiolo Michet clone used for its great Barolo wines. Accuracy, rigour and respect for tradition also determine the production phase: long vinification, carried out under the strict control of oenologists, and ageing in large barrels.

The finesse, detail and personality of Giuseppe Mascarello's wines, able to excite even the most discerning drinkers, are the result of tested and refined techniques, part of a history that has continued since 1881 and that never ceases to excel and fascinate.
