The Old Bushmills Distillery is a historic Northern Irish establishment that produces a range of excellent whiskeys, which are loved by all the connoisseurs of fine spirits. Bushmills is the oldest legally recognised distillery in the world and its licence to operate dates back to 1608. It was first licensed in 1608. After more than four centuries of history, Bushmills still produces the legendary amber spirit with the same artisanal skill as the original spirit, preserving a precious heritage of traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation of master distillers. This historical legacy and a great respect for the most ancient traditions has allowed the brand to preserve its charm and the extraordinary quality of its famous Irish Whiskeys.

The Old Bushmills distillery is located on the north coast of Northern Ireland, just a few kilometres away from the North Sea and the famous 'Giant's Causeway' nature reserve. The name derives from the mills that characterise the landscape of the River Bush, also reflecting the strong connection to the area. For the production of the distillate, the purest and clearest water of the Bush River, which flows uncontaminated over the basalt rocks, is used. Its lightness gives the distillates an extraordinary expressive purity, which enhances the intense and rich aromas. Careful attention to raw materials has always been the defining characteristic of Bushmills, which has always used the finest malted barley in its production processes. This is a fundamental ingredient in producing smooth spirits with an enveloping profile and a well-rounded, satisfying sip. These features are particularly appreciated by Irish Whiskey lovers and are still the true signature of this famous UK brand.

Throughout its long history, the distillery has weathered difficult times without ever losing its way. After a fire destroyed the buildings at the end of the 19th century and a drop in sales during the Prohibition era, which blocked exports to the United States, Bushmills was able to regain its identity and strength by continuing to produce great spirits. Today, a production process involving triple distillation in traditional stills is still employed to achieve maximum finesse and elegance. In addition to the Blended Whiskey labels, they also produce fine Single Malts that are aged for 10, 16 or 21 years in casks that were previously used to age American Bourbon or the fragrant fortified wines of Jerez.
