Pagani De Marchi

To testify to the fact that these lands (Casa Nocera) were already perfect for viticulture in the past is the discovery of the Etruscan tomb of the Warrior Prince, dating back to the 7th and 4th centuries B.C. and found with all the utensils for the banquet, including those for wine tasting. Coincidence or not, it is precisely on this ancient land that the lush vineyards of the Pagani de Marchi winery rise. A reality founded in 1996 in the Maremma estate, used in the past as a holiday home, where the family would go on vacation, relax, and spend time in contact with nature. Little by little, the beautiful house became a modern winery and the arable fields transformed into prosperous vineyards, inaugurating a 360-degree wine estate. The vineyards, located at about 200 meters above sea level, spread over 6 hectares at the foot of the hill where the ancient village of Casale Marittimo stands, in the province of Pisa, and are divided between Sangiovese, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Pia Pagani De Marchi leads the company, accompanied by the great winemaker Attilio Pagli, who knows these places and the best winemaking techniques very well.

The Pagani de Marchi winery tends to and cares for its vineyards with great respect, according to the principles of organic farming, certification achieved in 2009. The soils are poor in organic matter and composed of Pliocene clays. No fertilizations are carried out and no synthetic chemical substances are used, nor fertilizers or pest control treatments. The healthy and genuine grapes, selected from the rows, are brought to the winery for vinification. Typically, the maceration and alcoholic fermentation take place in steel, while the malolactic fermentation and aging occur in oak barrels.

The wines of Pagani De Marchi are expressions of great quality and character, capable of interpreting the territory with charm and purity. Mainly, red wines are produced, in blends or single varietals, full-bodied or simpler, but still characterized by a rich, territorial, savory, and Mediterranean profile, able to reveal, sip after sip, the potential of the prestigious land of Maremma Toscana.
