The winery Poggio Trevvalle is headquartered in Campagnatico, in an area where they intersect and overlap the Morellino di Scansano DOCG and DOC Montecucco. The estate was purchased in late 1998 by brothers Umberto and Bernardo Valle, who personally take care of 13 hectares of vineyards of the property, located around the winery. In the vineyard dominates the Sangiovese grape variety typical of the region, while in small plots cultivated also Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Alicante. The idea that inspires all the production of Poggio Trevvalle is to produce natural wines, pleasant to drink right now, but, above all, who have their own distinctive character unmistakable, that makes them unique. To achieve this goal it is necessary that the elements such as land, flora and fauna, are completely natural, and it is for this reason that the brothers Valle immediately started organic production from the vineyard to the cellar. All the grapes, harvested when ripe very advanced to soften the tannins, are de-stemmed and crushed within two hours of collection and undergo a first fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature, using only indigenous yeasts, while the malolactic fermentation takes place in tanks concrete or in large wooden barrels for Sangiovese and Alicante, while for the other varieties such as Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon is made of steel or in small wooden barrels; only after this second fermentation is make the different assemblies. In the wine scene Italian wines produced by Cantina Poggio Trevvalle are distinguished by their naturalness together with great pleasure and a value for money very interesting.
