Redondèl

Redondèl is a small farm nestled in the heart of the Piana Rotaliana, in Mezzolombardo, one of the most renowned and distinctive areas of Trentino. Here, Paolo Zanini and his wife Mara have been continuing a family tradition since 2001 that has roots stretching far beyond Italy's borders, to when Trentino was still part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and Teroldego wine was sold in markets beyond the Alps. Even today, the business follows the most essential farming traditions, consisting of handed-down practices and a deep knowledge of the land that Paolo began to learn as a child, following his father among the rows of vines at dawn, until today it has become a conscious and proud lifestyle choice.

The Redondèl vineyards cover just over three hectares, divided into seven plots in the Piana Rotaliana, which have always been cultivated organically with great attention to the natural balance of the soil. The soils, rich in gravel, sand, pebbles and debris of dolomitic, calcareous and porphyritic origin, give each plot a different identity, which is why Paolo chooses to vinify each parcel separately. The vineyard is cultivated using respectful viticulture practices, also inspired by biodynamic principles. In the cellar, time becomes a precious ally, through slow spontaneous fermentation, the use of large oak and chestnut barrels and minimal intervention, so that the wine finds its own balance without being forced.

Redondèl wines are sincere and layered interpretations of a single grape variety: authentic and eccentric, Paolo Zanini's Teroldego is a surprising artisanal product. Each label is created to express a different nuance of this variety and highlights the relationship between soil, vintage and the winemaker's touch. These are wines that speak with their own voice, faithful to the character of the Piana Rotaliana and the essential vision of those who produce them. A 'study in Teroldego'.
