Located in Lonato del Garda, on the picturesque shores of Lake Garda, Saottini is a productive reality committed to enhancing the enological identity of Valtenesi and Lugana, denominations situated on the western and southern sides of Garda respectively. Having been founded back in 1917, the winery boasts over a century of history during which the Saottini family has passed down their knowledge of the land and viticultural techniques. It all began when Maria, wife of Cesare Saottini, a farmer descended from farmers, rented the Cascina di Monte Mario to secure her husband's discharge from the war. Upon his return, Cesare took over the farm and planted the first vineyards, passing the baton to his children in the decades that followed. Gradually, the activity grew through the generations, arriving in modern times with the brothers Silvano and Cesare Saottini and the young Daniele, Cesare’s son, who continue to foster the family tradition. Alongside viticulture, the estate is also dedicated to the production of fine extra virgin olive oils, another excellence of the Garda area, made from the Leccino and Casaliva cultivars.

The Saottini estate includes 12 hectares of vineyards, primarily reserved for the traditional varieties Groppello, Turbiana, Rebo, and Marzemino, alongside the renowned international varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Chardonnay. Harvesting is done by hand in crates, and in the winery, fermentations take place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with the inoculation of selected yeasts, guiding the process without the risk of undesirable deviations. This is followed by a variable maturation phase, always in stainless steel or more often in concrete tanks, without the use of wood that could alter the expression of the grape variety and the territory.

Thus, the production of the Lombard winery Saottini takes shape, featuring a selection of white, red, rosé, and sparkling Metodo Classico wines appreciated for their balanced and fragrant style, never over the top.
