Toros is a family business based on ancient farming origins. The passion for viticulture has been handed down from generation to generation since the early 1900s. The winery was founded by Eduardo Toros, who sensed the value of these lands and the potential they could express. Franco, the current owner, carries on the best customs of the land with love for the land and a desire to produce great wines. Faithful to tradition, he has been able to transform the winery by keeping faith with the ancient savoir-faire and focusing all his attention on the vineyard, with the knowledge that only from grapes of excellent quality can great wines be born with a frank and genuine character.

The Toros estate is located in Novali, near Cormòns, in the magnificent hilly area of Collio Goriziano. This slice of land on the border with Slovenia enjoys particularly favorable conditions for the cultivation of vines. The Julian Pre-Alps chain keeps the hills sheltered from disturbances and cold winds from the northeast. The proximity of the Adriatic Sea, on the other hand, mitigates the climate with its gentle breezes, ensuring excellent ripening with healthy clusters. The soils are particularly valuable. They are composed of deep stratifications of sandstone and calcareous marl, known by the Friulian term ponca, which were sedimented on ancient sea beds. These are poor stony and friable soils, suitable for high-quality viticulture.

Careful and meticulous work in the vineyard yields healthy and genuine clusters, which are vinified in a very simple way, trying to intervene as little as possible in the process of turning the grapes into wine. The main concern is to preserve intact the varietal character of the vines by enhancing the peculiarities of a unique terroir. The grape varieties grown are the classic Collio varieties, the indigenous Ribolla Gialla and the international Friulano, Pinot Bianco, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot among the reds. An excellent range of labels, capable of highlighting ancient Friulian traditions.
