Woven

Specializing in the marketing of whisky with an original and modern personality, the Scottish production company Woven is dedicated to the exploration of the extraordinary potential of Blended Whisky. At the heart of this ambitious project are two friends and partners operating in Edinburgh, in the lively Leith district, with the aim of producing innovative Blended Whisky through the union of creativity and passion. Pete and Duncan, the names of the founding friends, are also driven by the desire to produce more accessible and contemporary whisky, capable of meeting the refined taste of new generations of enthusiasts. To emphasize this fundamental concept, the two partners chose to market their whiskies in a peculiar bottle, quite different from traditional whisky bottles. Regarding production, Pete and Duncan have built a solid network of contacts collaborating with both major distilleries in Scotland and modern realities spread across the globe.

The whiskies of the Woven Scottish project are made from a selection of malted grains from Scotland and other countries. Following the classic stages of mashing, fermentation, and distillation, prolonged aging in barrels of various types follows, including oak barrels previously used for sherry maturation. The so-called operation of marrying is then fundamental, aimed at assembling the barrels containing the different whiskies to create the ideal Blended Whisky. Throughout the entire process, the use of colorants is excluded, as is the recourse to cold filtration operations.

The selection of whiskies from the Woven project includes both Blended Scotch Whisky and Blended World Whisky, the latter produced with whisky from all over the world, particularly from England, Germany, Ireland, the United States, and New Zealand. There are two lines of spirits offered by Woven: ‘Core Range’ and ‘Whisky Experiences’, both aimed at the excellence and originality of Blended Whisky to create a complete spirit.
