Alta Langa Renato Ratti 2020
New arrivalsRenato Ratti’s Alta Langa comes from a small vineyard of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grown at high altitude, at around 700 metres above sea level. The label features, for the first time, a female figure inspired by the Piedmontese vivandiera, who accompanied and assisted the army during its movements. The grapes undergo soft pressing and fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by a long ageing on the lees for over 50 months, which defines the wine’s depth and structure. On the nose, aromas of white-fleshed fruit and citrus stand out, with hints of bread crust and mineral nuances on the finish. On the palate, a fresh yet enveloping profile emerges, supported by a fine perlage with distinct savoury notes on the finish. It pairs naturally with veal in tuna sauce
