AMARONE DELLA VALPOLICELLA CLASSICO 'PRUVINIANO' DOMINI VENETI 2019 DESCRIPTION

Domini Veneti's Amarone della Valpolicella Classico "Pruviniano" is an important label, made from grapes harvested in the Marano Valley, an area known until the 12th century as Pruviniano. The name is a reminder of the history of the area, which is well suited to a wine with a classic and traditional profile, which interprets very well the peculiar characteristics of the famous Valpolicella red. Rich and persuasive, it is a wine of great class, capable of conquering with its heady and complex bouquet. At the table it is best paired with braised meats, stews or game-based main courses.

"Pruviniano" is a particularly fine Amarone della Valpolicella Classico. It is produced by Domini Veneti with the aim of enhancing the characteristics of certain vineyards that have always been able to give grapes with very intense aromas. The Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella grapes come from a vineyard located in the hamlet of Prognol, in the heart of the hilly Valpolicella Classica area. The parcel is located at an altitude between 200 and 250 metres above sea level, with a splendid south-east, south-west exposure. The vines are 15 years old and take root in soils composed of silt, clay and limestone, which are particularly suited to red grapes. The best bunches are selected in the vineyard during the harvest and then taken to the drying room, which lasts until December/January. The dehydrated bunches are then destemmed and sent to fermentation with maceration on the skins for about a month. The wine matures 18 months in oak barrels and ends its ageing with a few months in the bottle.

The Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 'Pruviniano' wine, produced by Domini Veneti, is a structured, warm and aromatically very rich red wine, representing one of the spearheads of this prestigious brand of the Cantina di Negrar. To the eye it has a very intense and dense garnet red colour. The olfactory profile is broad and complex, with aromas of wild berry jam, cherries under spirits, soft oriental spices, hints of bitter cocoa, roasted and balsamic nuances. The sip is enveloping and deep, with aromas of great persistence, accompanying towards a long and harmonious finish.
