The Barbera d'Alba "Brichet" is a nimble and juicy red wine, aged for 15 months in cask and barrique. The intense and compact aromas of underbrush and red fruit lead to a fresh and smooth sip, with plenty of richness and personality

The Barbera d’Alba “Brichet” from the Ca’ Viola winery is an elegant version of this popular Piedmont red. The excellent quality of the grapes and a very careful vinification with minimal oenological intervention allow the grape variety to express itself at its best, offering a red of extraordinary drinkability, fresh, fragrant, balanced, and harmonious. It is a Barbera suitable for those who want to know the true face of the grape variety and the authentic character of the territory. It is a label that seduces with its versatility at the table, where it finds excellent pairings with pasta with meat or game sauces, baked pasta, or roasts of white meats.

“Brichet” is a Barbera d’Alba that originates from the estate of one of the most talented winemakers and vignerons in Piedmont. Beppe Caviola created his Ca’ Viola winery in the early ’90s, with the aim of enhancing the classic grape varieties of the territory. He produces a range of wines of great elegance, capable of interpreting the terroir at its best. The estate is managed with the utmost respectof the environment, using only copper, sulfur, and organic fertilizers, without resorting to chemical treatments. The Barbera vines are about 20 years old and are cultivated in the hilly area of Montelupo Albese, at an altitude of about 400 meters above sea level. The medium-textured soils, of a calcareous-clay matrix, are particularly suitable for red grape varieties, which express themselves with a intense and elegant personality. The fermentation is spontaneous, using only indigenous yeasts and with a maceration on the skins of two to three weeks. Before bottling, the wine matures for 15 months in large oak barrels and in second and third passage barriques, so as not to burden the Barbera with wood notes.

The red Barbera d’Alba “Brichet” from Ca’ Viola is a beautiful interpretation of the Piedmont grape variety. Thanks to a perfect aging process, the wine expresses an excellent balance between a maturity that softens its youthful impetuosity and the fragrance of the fruit. In the glass, it presents a dark ruby red color, with purple reflections. The olfactoryprofile expresses intense aromas of ripe cherry, red plum, marasca, small berries, and delicate spicy sensations. The sip is lively, with exuberant fruit and a very fine tannic structure. The finish is very fresh and has good taste persistence.
