Ca' Viola

Ca' Viola is a Piedmontese winery created by the oenologist Beppe Caviola, a famous consultant for prestigious companies. The opportunity to put his studies in oenology into practice and create a reality to express his philosophy and vision of the wine world comes soon. The new activity begins by renting the Barturot vineyard, long desired. The first vinifications take place in the garage of his parents' house, where he begins to clarify his thoughts, based on a meeting point between the oldest customs of the territory and modern innovations, which are always seen only as a tool to be used with awareness and without betraying traditions.

At the beginning of his career, Beppe Caviola received encouragement from Elio Altare, a great Barolo producer and innovator of Langhe wines. The first wine produced by Beppe Caviola, the Dolcetto Barturot, is immediately a success. Shortly after, Beppe decides to expand his activity by managing a small Barbera vineyard in Montelupo, which soon begins to be vinified according to his new vision. Thus, the Bric du Luv label is added to the Dolcetto. The real turning point occurs in 1996 with the production of two new labels: the Dolcetto Vilot and the Barbera Brichet. From this moment on, the path is set, and Beppe decides to dedicate all his energies to viticulture and winemaking. Thanks to his knowledge, experiences, and a refined tasting sensitivity, Beppe begins a consultancy and collaboration activity with friends who are winemakers and producers: Elio Altare, Abbona Marziano, Angelo Rocca, Quinto Chionetti, Domenico Clerico, Luca Vietti, Stefano Mocagatta, and Valter Fissore.

This marks the beginning of a brilliant career as an oenologist that led him in 2002 to be awarded Oenologist of the Year by Gambero Rosso and Slow Food. During the same period, he decides to move the winery to Dogliani and create the Relais Villa Bracco. A few years later, the opportunity arises to take care of a vineyard from the Sottocastello cru of Novello and subsequently to also challenge himself with some of the most famous international varieties in the world, such as Chardonnay and Riesling. His career remains intimately linked to the territory of the Langhe, to its gentle hills, a source of inspiration for his entire professional journey, which has led him to the top of the oenology of the peninsula.
