The Barbera d'Asti Superiore from the Piedmont winery Ricossa is a territorial red wine of character and taste that perfectly accompanies meat and vegetable dishes. This label is made with carefully selected grapes of the same name and a long aging of 14 months, of which 6 in wooden barrels. The intense ruby red color illuminates the glass with violet reflections while the nose is intoxicated by fruity and spicy notes. The sip is elegant, soft, velvety and engaging

The Barbera d'Asti Superiore produced by the Ricossa winery is part of the Riserve line, created to enhance the diamonds of this beautiful reality of the Asti area. It is an intense wine, particularly rich and well-structured, that interprets the great Piedmontese red in the sign of elegance. Far from the simple fragrant and lively everyday wine, Barbera is enhanced thanks to careful vineyard management, winemaking, and aging done with longevity and complexity in mind. It is a label that allows you to discover the authentic face of the grape variety and its best expressive qualities, which elevate it to the rank of a great expression of the Piedmontese lands, on par with the famous reds of the Langhe.

The red Barbera d'Asti Superiore is born in a historic winery of the territory. The Ricossa family has been present in these lands since the late 1800s, and thanks to this long experience, they produce wines that faithfully reflect the terroir. The Barbera grapes used to create this prestigious label come from different vineyards located in the lands of Monferrato, particularly in the wonderful area of gentle hills between Alessandria and Asti. The beautiful sunny exposures and the mild and breezy climate of the southern part of Piedmont, which rises towards the first foothills of the Ligurian Apennines, provide the ideal conditions for ripening grapes of excellent quality. The vines are cultivated on very suitable soils for red grape varieties, mainly composed of calcareous-clay soils, with the presence of tuff and siliceous stones. At the end of the harvest, the ripest and healthiest bunches, selected directly in the vineyard, are sent for alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks, with skin maceration. Before proceeding to bottling, the wine ages for a period of 14 months, of which 6 in wood.
