Batasiolo's Barolo Briccolina is a rich and deep red wine from Piedmont, produced in the Serralunga d'Alba area. Its main characteristic are delicate woody reminiscences, which marry beautifully with the typical Nebbiolo aromas of red fruits and flowers. The palate is full, soft and intense, but still very elegant. To drink with friends to exchange deep chats and moments of reflection

The Barolo Briccolina from the family-run winery Batasiolo is a modernist and international interpretation of the territory of Serralunga d'Alba, the municipality where the cru Briccolina is located. This plot owes part of its value to the composition of the soil, made up of the so-called "Lequio Formation." Dating back to the Serravallian period, also known as Elveziano, this type of soil is formed by an alternation of layers of clayey marls and sandstones. These are the oldest soils in the entire Barolo area, dating back as much as 12 million years.

Batasiolo Barolo Briccolina is made from pure Nebbiolo grapes grown on soils composed of gray clayey marls interspersed with sandy veins, located at an altitude of about 400 meters above sea level with an excellent southwest exposure. The harvest is done by hand in the second half of October and is followed by the de-stemming of the bunches, which are then fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures.accompanied by at least 10-12 days of maceration on the skins, during which periodic pump-overs are performed. For the subsequent long aging phase, French oak barriques are used, containers in which the wine rests for about 24 months before further refinement between steel and bottle that precedes the final marketing.

In the glass, Batasiolo's Barolo Briccolina shows an intense garnet red color. On the nose, deep sensations of ripe red fruit, dried flowers, leather, tobacco, sweet spices, fine woods, and toasted dried fruit are perceived. The taste is rich and powerful, full and elegant, with a soft tannic texture that anticipates the intense and persistent finish on fruity, spicy, and toasted notes.
