The Barolo "Margheria" by Pira is a robust and full-bodied wine, with a rich and complex aromatic profile, dominated by spicy notes, and a warm and enveloping taste. It originates from the homonymous cru of Serralunga and ages for 24 months in large barrels

The Barolo "Margheria" by Luigi Pira is a classic version of the great red from the Langhe, produced with grapes from the Margheria cru. The vineyard is located in the territory of Serralunga d'Alba, to the west of the village of Serralunga, almost on the border with the area of Castiglione Falletto. According to the best tradition of Barolo from Serralunga, it is a wine of significant structure, a perfect expression of that particular synthesis of power and refined elegance, which only the great Nebbiolo can condense and express in a glass. Faithful to ancient customs, it matures for a long time in large barrels and offers a deep, rich, and persistent sip.

The "Margheria" Barolo is produced by one of the historic names of the Serralunga d'Alba territory. The Pira family has been cultivating Nebbiolo since the late 19th century and today manages 12 hectares of vineyards, half of which are located in some of the most renowned Geographical Indications of the Serralunga area: Marenca, Margheria, and Vigna Rionda. The philosophy of the winery has always remained faithful to tradition, with careful work in the vineyard and refinements in large barrels, without easy concessions to modernist trends. The Barolo Pira is appreciated by enthusiasts precisely for its rigorously classic, intense, and austere character. It is a wine that must be waited for and needs time to express its full maturity and harmony.

The Barolo "Margheria" by Luigi Pira comes from an old vineyard of about 50 years of age, cultivated at an altitude of 340 meters, on calcareous-clay soils. Fermentation takes place in horizontal tanks, with a maceration on the skins lasting a couple of weeks. The wine matures for 24 months in barrels of 25 hectoliters and finishes aging in the bottle. In the glass, it has a garnet red color. The bouquet offers aromas of small red fruits, delicate hints of soft spices, floral nuances, notes of underbrush, and leather. On the palate, it shows remarkable structure, with a dense and lively tannic texture and an aromatic mouthfeel that is deep and complex. The finish extends with beautiful persistence towards a pleasantly fresh closure. A perfect expression of Serralunga, it is a Barolo for those who love the traditional styletraditional style of the wines from the Langhe.
