The Barolo "Monvigliero" by Fratelli Alessandria originates from a prestigious cru in Verduno and matures for 36 months in barrel. Typical notes of fruit in alcohol, leather, and sweet spices integrate into a rich, structured, and vigorous sip, supported by a good tannic texture.

Fratelli Alessandria Barolo ‘Monvigliero’ represents a prestigious and elegant expression of the municipality of Verduno, endowed with an simply irresistible charm. Due to its fame and the history behind it, the Geographical Mention of Monvigliero is configured as the most prized cru of Verduno and indeed one of the most vocated in the entire Barolo area. This vineyard, which presents itself as a natural amphitheater facing full south, has been interpreted in a traditional manner and with great mastery by the renowned family-run estate Fratelli Alessandria since 1978.

The Barolo ‘Monvigliero’ from the Fratelli Alessandria winery is a pure Nebbiolo from vines over 50 years old, located between 250 and 310 meters above sea level on rather loose soils made up of fine white marls, rich in limestone and silt. The grapes, hand-picked, are fermented in stainless steel tanks for alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperature, associated with 22-30 days of contact between the must and the skins. Subsequently, the wine spends approximately 36 months aged in French and Slavonian oak barrels, ranging in size from 20 to 40 hectoliters, followed by at least an additional 6 months of bottle aging before release on the market.

In the glass, the ‘Monvigliero’ Barolo Fratelli Alessandria displays a bright garnet red hue. The aromatic profile is colorful and elegant, typical and refined, painted with notes of black cherry, wild strawberry, dried leaves, rose petals, licorice, cocoa, and leather, framed by subtle mineral and balsamic perceptions. The taste is structured, vigorous, and flavorful, with brilliant freshness and a rich tannic texture that leads to an almost endless persistence. This is a Barolo of classic style, an authentic reflection of its precious cru.
