The Barolo "San Lorenzo di Verduno" is a robust and complex wine, aged for 36 months in barrel. The aromatic profile recalls citrus fruits, medicinal herbs, and concludes with sweet and spicy tones. On the palate, it is warm and enveloping, demonstrating great balance and long persistence.

The Barolo “San Lorenzo di Verduno” produced by Fratelli Alessandria is the expression of one of the most prestigious crus of the estate and faithfully expresses the particular characteristics of this famous terroir of the denomination. It is a particularly complex and refined version of Barolo. On the nose, it opens with slight floral notes and delicate aromas of red fruit, enriched by hints of medicinal herbs and light woody nuances. The palate is intense and rich, with great aromatic persistence and a harmonious and delicate mouthfeel.

The “San Lorenzo di Verduno” Barolo comes from a plot located within the homonymous additional geographical mention of the municipality of Verduno. The vineyard has a splendid south-facing exposure and is situated at an altitude of about 250 meters above sea level. The vines are over 30 years old and produce grapes of particular aromatic intensity. The soils are mainly composed of limestone, with a good presence of silt. Following the manual harvest, there is spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in steel tanks at a temperature of 29-31 °C and a total maceration duration on the skins of about 20-25 days. The wine matures for 36 months in Slavonian oak barrels of 20-30 hectoliters, rests for 2 months in steel, and completes the long aging process with six months in bottle before being released for sale.

The “San Lorenzo di Verduno” is a Barolo that expresses a single cru. A prestigious label that allows you to understand the characteristics of the terroir and its peculiarities. In the glass, it has a beautiful garnet red color. The aromatic profile is rich and elegant with scents of violet, dried flowers, medicinal herbs, small berries, licorice root, and slightly toasted notes. The attack on the palate immediately shows a good structure, a dense but evolved tannic texture, a beautiful complexity and aromatic depth, which accompanies the sip towards a harmonious, persistent finish with good freshness.
