The Porticello Bianco is a white wine made from Carricante and Moscato grown in the Lipari Islands, on sandy and volcanic soil. It evokes the herbaceous and balsamic sensations of the beach of the same name, offering a fresh, balanced sip with pleasant intensity.

The Porticello is a white wine produced by Tenuta di Castellaro, an innovative winery located in Lipari, in the Aeolian Islands. The recovery of native grape varieties, proximity to the sea, and passion have allowed Massimo Lentsch, a Bergamasque entrepreneur captivated by the magical beauty of Sicily, to obtain territorial and expressive labels. Every sip takes us to the beaches of this romantic and wonderful island, accompanying us on a sensory and memory journey for those who have been able to enjoy the emotions that this enchanted place offers its visitors.

The Bianco Porticello from Tenuta Castellaro is obtained from a blend of Carricante, a grape variety native to the province of Catania known for its fresh backbone, and Moscato Bianco which skillfully balances with its pronounced aromatic qualities. The vines are cultivated near the sea at an altitude of 350 meters which allows, during the day, to capture the warm Sicilian sun and, at night, the cool sea breezes. Volcanic sandy soils rich in microelements make it the perfect home for ripening grapes full of juice and flavor. After manual harvesting and a careful selection, the bunches are pressed directly in a pneumatic press. No clarification of the musts, only static decantation at 16 degrees and spontaneous fermentation in steel tanks. The aging of the Carricante takes place in a 30 hl non-toasted barrel with batonage and resting on the lees for about 3 months. Finally, the blend ages for an additional month in the bottle before being released on the market.

The Porticello Bianco from the Tenuta di Castellaro winery appears to the eye pale yellow, clear and shy, with herbaceous reflections. On the nose, one can perceive green and vegetal notes combined with a delicate and never intrusive fruit. It brings its drinker back to the seaside with notes of saltiness, lively and mineral. The sip is fresh and balanced; the slight fruity aftertaste softens the lively citrus note given by the Carricante. A bottle that best expresses the unique and Mediterranean terroir of the island of Lipari, giving an exciting marine memory.
