Blanquette de Limoux Brut 'Cuvée Reservée' Maison Guinot
Perfect to drink every dayLa Blanquette de Limoux "Cuvée Reservée" is a brut sparkling wine obtained according to the Traditional Method with second fermentation in bottle and aging on the lees for 9 months. It exudes delicate sensations of white flowers and fresh fruit, expressing itself on the palate with expressive vivacity, freshness and citrus aromas
The Brut “Cuvée Reservée” by Guinot is an authoritative expression of Blanquette de Limoux, the oldest French sparkling wine produced with bottle fermentation, whose origins seem to date back to 1531, that is, over a century before the invention of Champagne by Abbot Dom Pierre Pérignon. In the following centuries, the fame of this sparkling wine typical of southern France, particularly from the town of Limoux, was overshadowed by that of Champagne, while today, thanks to the brilliant work of historic and virtuous maisons like Guinot, it is regaining ground and becoming known worldwide, also thanks to the very competitive prices at which it is offered.
The Blanquette de Limoux Guinot “Cuvée Reservée” is one of the most typical expressions of this type, the result of a long family tradition of a winery committed, for over 140 years, to its enhancement. It is produced using the Traditional Method, freely inspired by the Méthode Champenoise, with a second fermentation in bottle, disgorgement and addition of sugar dosage. The grape used is Mauzac, typical of the Roussillon region and always used for sparkling wine production due to its refined freshness. The short aging on the lees in the bottle for about 9 months is functional to the development of a delicate aromatic richness that does not compromise the fresher and more vibrant varietal notes of Mauzac, demonstrating great expressive clarity and easy drinkability.
The Blanquette de Limoux “Cuvée Reservée” Brut is the result of a unique savoir-faire and a centuries-old history, now fully preserved and enhanced by Maison Guinot. Its style is simple, immediate, and youthful, played on freshness and liveliness. It presents a pale and luminous straw yellow color, with fine and numerous bubbles. The bouquet is pleasant and fragrant, marked by notes of citrus, flowers, and white fruit, with very slight hints of baking. The sip is lively, dry, agile, fruity, and easy to drink. It communicates joy and lightheartedness and lends itself to multiple occasions of consumption: from informal toasting to refined pairing with appetizers and aperitifs.
