Bordeaux Blanc Domaine de Saint Amand 2020

The Bordeaux Blanc of Domaine de Saint Amand is a white wine born on the right bank of the Garonne, near Cambes. Half the mass ages in barrique and half in steel before assembling the final wine, really pleasant to drink with a surprising intensity. White fruits and flowers are well present on the nose, with citrus jam and a hint of vanilla on the finish, meeting a rich and ample sip on the palate, with a good freshness, sapidity and structure. To drink now or in a few years, accompanying a fatty fish such as salmon

BORDEAUX BLANC DOMAINE DE SAINT AMAND 2020 DESCRIPTION

Domaine de Saint Amand's Bordeaux Blanc comes from a land that has always been famous mainly for great reds. However, in the area south of Bordeaux, on the banks of the Garonne, white grapes also express themselves very well. The label is a cuvée composed of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, which create a perfect balance of taste, giving an intense, ripe and complex sip. It is a wine to be discovered, made in a small family domaine managed with extreme care, fully respecting the environment and following the rules of certified organic farming.

Blanc Bordeaux is produced in a small estate of quality. The Domaine de Saint Amand manages a property of only 3.2 hectares with a genuine artisanal spirit, which allows it to produce wines with a classic profile, cared for with extreme caution. The Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon grapes come from a small vineyard planted in less than one hectare located in the commune of Cambes. The vines are about 25 years old and are grown on limestone-clay soils with abundant alluvial gravel. Harvesting is done manually when the grapes are fully ripe, with picking in small crates so as not to damage the bunches. The grapes undergo a 24-hour cold pre-fermentative maceration. After soft pressing, the must is fermented in oak barrels. The wine matures for a period of 6-8 months, 50% in barriques and 50% in stainless steel tanks.

The Bordeaux Blanc produced by Domaine de Saint Amand is an interesting label that well highlights the vocation of this territory towards the production of excellent quality whites. In the glass it is light yellow in color with golden reflections. The olfactory profile is elegant and intense, with scents of white flowers, ripe citrus, white peach, yellow melon, tropical hints, delicate vegetal nuances, vanilla and soft spices. Well-structured, it has a nice breadth and aromatic persistence, which unfolds into a harmonious, rich and complex sip. The finish is fresh and of good gustatory persistance.
