Callmewine's Favourites
Organic and biodynamicChateau de Cranne's Bordeaux Rouge "Nature" is a straightforward Bordeaux red, produced organically and with minimal intervention. It is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, a meeting of the two emblematic grapes of the region, produced with artisanal care to present a 'goût de terroir' to the fullest. To the nose it has aromas of small red fruits: a walk in the undergrowth. On the palate it is energetic, easy to drink and with great freshness. Drinking it, you will feel as if you can feel crunchy fruit in your mouth!
The Bordeaux Rouge ‘Nature’ from Chateau de Cranne represents a purely genuine bottle produced in organic farming without added sulfites. Chateau de Cranne is a Bordeaux estate owned by the Lacoste family since 1856, located in the municipality of Donzac, 40 minutes southeast of the city of Bordeaux, on the highest hills of the area. The over 40 hectares of vineyards owned are managed under certified organic farming, in order to preserve biodiversity and safeguard the health of the environment and consumers. Based on this noble premise, the Lacoste family cultivates among others the traditional grape varieties Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Semillon.
Chateau de Cranne Bordeaux Rouge ‘Nature’ originates from an equivalent blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, grape varieties grown under certified organic farming on alluvial soils. Following the harvest, the bunches are pressed in stainless steel tanks where alcoholic fermentation occurs spontaneously thanks to the sole intervention of indigenous yeasts, accompanied by a skin maceration not excessively prolonged. Also, the subsequent aging phase takes place in steel for a few months and the wine is finally bottled without added sulfur.
The ‘Nature’ Bordeaux Rouge from Chateau de Cranne has a dark and intense ruby red color. The nose evokes vivid fruity notes of blueberry, black currant, and ripe cherry, associated with slight vegetal hints and green pepper typical of the grape variety. Crunchy, fresh, and intense is the tasting progression, characterized by well-integrated tannins and pronounced aromatic verve. A French red of great drinkability that can be enjoyed young or aged for a few years.
