The Campofiorin Magnum is a rich, round and velvety red wine, a historic interpretation of Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara from the Masi winery. It has a rich and exuberant bouquet of cherry and sweet spices and a fruity and engaging taste, with elegant and smooth tannins. Aged for 18 months in barriques and large barrels and bottled in the prestigious Magnum format!

The “Campofiorin” Magnum by Masi is a true piece of history and represents the winemaking tradition of Veneto. It was born in 1964 from the ingenuity of Guido Boscaini and has been identified as a “Supervenetian”, meaning a wine of “wonderful size and complexity”, as it has indeed been defined. It is a graceful wine, designed to recreate, through a lighter profile, the charm of that ancient production method which consists of the ripasso technique, that is, the refermentation of the wine in contact with the pomace of Amarone or Recioto. This was the first step on the innovative path that elevated the well-known Veronese blend, based on Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara, to levels of absolute excellence, paving the way for modern Valpolicella Ripasso.

In the red wine “Campofiorin” Magnum, in fact, we find three strongly characterizing grapes of the area: Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara. First, the grapes are vinified fresh, as normally happens for the production of a red wine. Subsequently, a second fermentation is initiated by the addition of pomace, still rich in residual sugar, coming from the dried grapes used to produce Amarone.

a second fermentation, triggered by the addition of pomace, still rich in residual sugar, coming from the dried grapes used to produce Amarone.

A deep ruby red color introduces the olfactory and taste density of “Campofiorin”. Bouquet focused on red fruit and sweet spice, intertwining in a warm and enveloping aroma. The same softness is also found in the sip, seductive and round. The tannins are sweet and not intrusive. Good complexity both on the nose and on the palate, but this does not contradict a pleasant and easy drink. It was the pioneer of a new style of great success, never seen or tasted before. Masi believed in it and persevered: the ending of this captivating story is now just to be tasted. A Magnum format for a unique experience
