The Chardonnay “Boghis” from Vie di Romans is part of the Climat collection of the famous winery in Mariano del Friuli. It is a range of labels resulting from careful research and zoning of the territory, which has allowed for the selection of the best parcels and their separate vinification, to highlight the peculiar characteristics of each terroir. The extraordinary quality of the grapes and a very attentive vinification and aging process give rise to an elegant, rich, and complex white that enhances the characteristics of Chardonnay.
“Boghis” is a Chardonnay made by one of the Friulian wineries that has most contributed to enhancing the characteristics of the territory. Vie di Romans manages about sixty hectares in the Isonzo area and produces wines of excellent quality, which for decades have been part of the elite of great Friulian whites. The wine is born from a rigorous selection of the best grapes from the vineyards located in the area historically known as “Boghis”, a true cru of the estate. At the end of the harvest, the grapes undergo a cold prefermentative maceration. The bunches are then gently pressed and the must, after static decantation, is fermented at low temperature with selected yeasts. The wine matures in barriques on the lees for about nine months and then ages in the bottle for about a year before commercialization.
