Domaine Hadrien Houbert's Chiroubles 'Col du Truges' is a pure Gamay from the Beaujolais area of France. The soils here, which are mostly sandy granite and make the wine very soft and elegant, are worked by pulling their horses, in an entirely artisanal manner. The scents perceived in the 'Col du Truges' are mainly of peony, iris and lily of the valley, while on the palate, freshness and persistence are the most striking sensations. Try it with a board of well-aged cheeses or grilled meat

The Chiroubles ‘Col du Truges’ from Domaine Hadrien Houbert represents a pure and sincere expression of the Beaujolais territory, particularly of the Chiroubles cru, one of the smallest subzones of the area. It is also one of the highest crus in terms of altitude, with heights reaching 450 meters above sea level, which determine significant temperature variations between day and night. This favors the freshness and aromatic intensity of the wines produced here, as well as contributes to extending the growing season of the grapes, which are therefore typically harvested later than in other subzones of Beaujolais.

The ‘Col du Truges’ Domaine Hadrien Houbert Chiroubles is produced solely from Gamay grapes grown in granitic soils in accordance with the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture. When the grapes reach the right stage of ripeness, harvesting takes place, followed by red winemaking of the grapes, with alcoholic fermentation occurring in stainless steel tanks in contact with the skins thanks to the action of only indigenous yeasts. The subsequent maturation phase also takes place in steel, and after a few months the wine is finally bottled without undergoing any filtration process. Furthermore, throughout the entire process, the use of additives and enological aids is excluded.

The Chiroubles Domaine Hadrien Houbert ‘Col du Truges’ has an intense ruby red color. The aromatic profile denotes fruity and floral sensations of plum, blackberry, peony, iris, lily of the valley, and violet, surrounded by balsamic notes of eucalyptus. On the palate, it is fresh, smooth, and fine, with well-integrated tannins supporting the persistent finish of excellent taste-olfactory correspondence.
