The Piedmontese red wine “Visadì” Dolcetto is the result of the work, commitment, and enthusiasm that dominate the daily scene within the Domenico Clerico winery. A bottle that is anything but ordinary, where the sip is round and full, also thanks to the presence of old vines of Dolcetto, less productive than the more recent plants, but more capable of bringing complex aromas and sensations in every bunch. An extremely versatile label in the kitchen, where it elegantly accompanies appetizers, first and second courses of land.
This “Visadì” is a Dolcetto that comes from the vineyards of Monforte d’Alba and Monchiero, where the vines have an age ranging from 10 years to up to 60. The yields per hectare never exceed 45-50 quintals, and each plant is cared for with the utmost attention. The harvest phase, strictly manual, begins on September 15, and the bunches, once they arrive in the rooms designated for winemaking at the Domenico Clerico winery, are destemmed. The must obtained from the pressing of the grapesferments in steel, remaining in contact with the skins for 5-7 days. The wine then matures in steel for 10 months, until it is deemed ready to be bottled.
The Dolcetto “Visadì” presents itself visually with a deep, typically ruby color. The combination of aromas that spread to the nose evokes sensations that are mainly fruity, also enriched by light peppery touches and nuances that recall some balsamic herbs. On the palate, it has a medium structure, with a round and full sip, where well-integrated tannins dominate; it finishes with a finale that impresses with its good persistence. A characterful red that highlights the continuous desire of the Domenico Clerico winery for absolute perfection.
