LUBERON 'ALPHONSE' BLANC DOMAINE DE FONTENILLE 2021 DESCRIPTION

Domaine de Fontenille's Luberon "Alphonse" Blanc originates from the Rhone Valley in France, an area devoted to the production of wines of unparalleled quality and beautiful, colorful landscapes. The winery is an oasis of relaxation, and its foundation dates back to the 17th century. In addition to wine production, the estate houses a hotel, organizes tours of the vineyards and its vegetable garden for guests, and offers the opportunity to chill out and unplug, getting in touch with nature and its beauty. From generation to generation, the art of winemaking has been handed down, and today there is a thriving business, destined to grow larger and larger.

Domaine de Fontenille's Rolle, Grenache White and Clairette del Luberon "Alphonse" Blanc grapes grow on soils mainly composed of clay and limestone and are cultivated following the dictates of organic farming, with great respect for the ecosystem surrounding the vineyards. The vines grow on a south/south-eastern exposure, resulting in constant and lasting sunshine for complete and effective ripening of the raw material. The grapes are harvested by hand and undergo an alcoholic fermentation in wood for 3 weeks; this is followed by a 10-month aging in oak barrels before bottling.

The color of Domaine de Fontenille's Luberon "Alphonse" Blanc is straw yellow in color with intense golden hues. The aromas perceived are reminiscent of ripe yellow-fleshed fruit, honey and sweet spices with light saline hints on the finish; on the palate the structure is generous, intense and enveloping with pleasant minerality and freshness. In pairing it is recommended with shellfish, molluscs and fish soups; also interesting with stewed white meats. A wine to be consumed during summer dinners by the sea while watching the sunset for a romantic moment, or for family evenings marked by cheerfulness and lightheartedness.
