The Etna Bianco "Erse" from the Tenuta di Fessina winery is a fresh and carefree white wine suitable for any moment of the day thanks to its great versatility. It is made with grapes of Carricante and Minnella harvested on the eastern slope of Etna in the Biancavilla area. The color is straw yellow with greenish reflections and the delicate aroma evokes hints of broom, orange blossom, citrus, mountain herbs, and almond. The taste is surprisingly mineral, with herbaceous notes and a balanced finish with a saline closure

The Etna Bianco "Erse" from Tenuta di Fessina is the result of a reality that has captured the attention of enthusiasts and professional critics thanks to a production of high-end wines, capable of interpreting with elegance and extraordinary fidelity the absolutely unique character of the volcano. The estate was created by the Tuscan producer Silvia Maestrelli, who recently passed away, and with the collaboration of agronomist Federico Curtaz, has recovered old vineyards, many still on their own roots, and has given life to one of the most interesting realities of Etna. Erse Bianco is a wine characterized by a fragrant freshness and a clear sapid and mineral vein, which expresses the essence of the volcanic terroir.

“Erse” is an Etna Bianco produced by one of the most prestigious wineries of the volcano. Tenuta di Fessina is located in Rovittello, on the northern slope of Etna, and manages a precious heritage of century-old vineyards, at the base of an absolutely exceptional range of quality wines. The wine is made from a blend of Carricante with a small addition of Catarratto and Minnella, an ancient indigenous grape of Etna. The vineyards are located in Biancavilla, with a south-facing exposure, and in Milo, with an east-facing exposure, at an altitude between 900 and 950 meters above sea level. The climate is very cool and breezy, and also thanks to significant temperature excursions, it favors a very slow maturation of the grapes. The harvest takes place during the month of October. After the gentle pressing of the grapes and a static decantation of the must, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine matures for several months in steel tanks and completes its aging with 8 months in bottle.

The Etna Bianco "Erse" from Tenuta di Fessina perfectly represents the fresh, clear, and vertical character of the great whites that are born on the volcanic lands of Mongibello. It is a wine of remarkable expressive tension, very suitable for pairing with seafood first courses, white-fleshed fish, and delicate flavors. In the glass, it has a beautiful light straw yellow color, with subtle greenish reflections. Refined and subtle, it expresses a bouquet characterized by scents of orange blossom, aromas of lemon zest, cedar, green apple, cartucciaro melon, hints of medicinal herbs, and flint. Tense and essential, it has a deep, long, and salty sip, with delicate fruit that leads to a finish of vibrant freshness.
