The Fleurie 'La Madone' by Guillaume Chanudet is a fresh and juicy red wine from Beaujolais, made from Gamay. The sip is smooth, tense, characterized by good acidity and young, scratchy tannins, while on the nose it expresses the classic fruity notes of red fruits, blackberry and cherry, accompanied at the finish by a slight mineral vein. A red wine to be served fresh and to be uncorked during an aperitif with friends!

The Fleurie ‘La Madone’ by the artisan vigneron Guillaume Chanudet is characterized as a graceful and seductive Gamay, the result of genuine agronomic and enological practices. This bottle comes from grapes grown in the lieu-dit of ‘La Madone’, a hill rightly considered among the most prized vineyards not only of Fleurie but of the entire Beaujolais. The winery of Guillaume Chanudet, the fifth generation of winemakers in the family, is located right at the top of the hill named after the small chapel of La Madone built at the summit. At the highest point of the church stands the statue of the Virgin, built in 1866 by local winemakers to protect the vineyards from oidium, one of the main diseases of the vine.

Guillaume Chanudet ‘La Madone’ Fleurie is a pure Gamay grown in bush training following the principles of organic farming. The vineyard from which the grapes come was planted in 1963 on soils rich in pink granite towards the summit of the hill of ‘La Madone’. When the berries have reached the stage of ideal ripeness, manual harvesting is carried out followed by red winemaking with whole bunches using semi-carbonic maceration and spontaneous alcoholic fermentation conducted by indigenous yeasts in cement tanks. After a few months of aging, the wine is finally bottled without prior clarification or stabilization.

‘La Madone’ Fleurie Guillaume Chanudet has a brilliant ruby red color. The nose is articulated with sensations of cherry, ripe plum, and berries that blend with intriguing floral hints of violet and rose petals. Delicate spicy and underbrush tones complete the aromatic profile. On the palate, it is fresh, caressing, and juicy, with young but well-integrated tannins that lead to a persistent fruity finish.
