"Moretto" is a red wine from Trapani's area with a fresh and Mediterranean personality, obtained from a blend of Nerello Mascalese, Syrah and Perricone, fermented separately with indigenous yeasts. The nose is played on crisp red fruit with flavors of aromatic herbs and sea breezes. The taste is juicy and rich, supported by an energizing freshness.

Il Moretto by Aldo Viola is a juicy and carefree red, a blend of sunshine and spice. Aldo Viola, a winemaker from Alcamo, in the province of Trapani, is one of the most well-known winemakers in the artisanal wine scene, thanks to increasingly convincing interpretations year after year. Aldo's belief is to produce vital and representative liquids, and the only way to achieve this is to ban the use of any chemical substances, continuing with spontaneous fermentations and minimal use of sulfur. Great expressions of territory, which in the case of Moretto combine joviality and elegance.

The red Moretto comes from a blend of Nerello Mascalese, Perricone, and Syrah. The Syrah comes from the Guarini vineyard, also used to produce the wine of the same name, while Perricone and Nerello come from more recently planted vineyards. Fermentation and maceration occur separately depending on the variety, with a longer duration period for Syrah. After blending, the aging of the liquid occurs 50% in steel containers and 50% in used tonneaux. No clarification or filtration before bottling, and minimal addition of sulfur.

The Moretto wine has a lively ruby color edged with violet reflections. It immediately explodes in the glass, with an enveloping nose that ranges from plum to Mediterranean scrub, from the typical black pepper of Syrah to a delicate saline vein. Freshness and definition, the same that can also be found on the palate. A true expression of territory, its carefree nature and refined saline texture make it a wine with a dangerous "drinkability." Another small gem from Alcamo.
