The Lagrein from Sanct Valentin is one of the most important labels of the San Michele Appiano winery. Matured in barrique, it combines the varietal aromas of the grape, marked by forest fruits and violets, with the classic hints from the wood aging, such as spices, cocoa, and vanilla. On the palate, it is enveloping, warm, with a solid structure, well-developed tannic texture, and a long finish.

stainless steel tanks. In these wine containers, alcoholic fermentation occurs in contact with the skins, followed by the complete malolactic fermentation. The aging phase of about a year takes place in barriques and oak tonneaux, followed by an additional 10 months of resting in steel before the final bottling.

The ‘Sanct Valentin’ Lagrein Riserva from San Michele Appiano expresses an intense and compact ruby red color. On the nose, vivid and intriguing fruity notes of blueberry, plum, and cassis emerge, enriched by deep hints of spices, coffee, cocoa, and sweet woods. The sip, rich and enveloping, shows full body and soft tannins supporting the lasting and warm finish. Due to its remarkable power, this Lagrein needs to be paired with dishes of significant structure.
