"La Villa" by Elio Altare is a red wine from the Langhe entirely produced in the La Morra area from a blend of Nebbiolo and Barbera grapes. Elio's typical and recognizable signature comes from the 18 months aging in barrique, which gives the wine character and longevity, with aromas of plum and blackberry and hints of spices. On the palate, it is intense, complex and well-balanced between acidity and tannins.

The Langhe Rosso 'La Villa' made by Elio Altare is a blend of two grape varieties that are strongly representative of regional viticulture. Barbera and Nebbiolo are united in an embrace that is, to say the least, successful, and which testifies to Elio's great skill in understanding the possibilities of a wine in which it is the ageing in barriques that is the touch that makes the bouquet of aromas on the nose elegant. A bottle perfect for sipping today, but which also promises to evolve for more than five years. The choice is yours, far from easy, but remember that Altare wines reward patience!

The wine 'La Villa' is the name of the Langhe Rosso that Elio Altare's winery produces from a blend of Barbera and Nebbiolo, the latter slightly predominant as a percentage in the final blend. The vineyards, characterised by sandy and tufaceous subsoil, are located in the La Morra area, and face south and south-east. The must obtained from pressing the grapes ferments in steel rotary fermenters where the temperature is controlled, macerating for a total of 3-4 days. The final stage of maturation takes place in barriques for a total of 18 months.

"La Villa" Langhe Rosso di Elio Altare announces itself to the eye with a colour reminiscent of ruby shades, endowed with a solid compactness. The range of notes that develop on the nose traces a bouquet where black berry fruit alternates with more spicy touches, tracing a very elegant outline. On the palate it is full-bodied and round, with a concentrated sip that develops in harmony between the tannic component and the fresher flavours. A very interesting label, which always plays the leading role on the table, and therefore requires high level gastronomic pairings.
