The grapes fermented with indigenous yeasts and the aging took place for a few months in barrique. Overall, it develops aromas of red fruits, spicy notes of tobacco, and mentholated balsamic hints. The sip is intense and structured with tannins that integrate perfectly.

The climat “Clos Roussots” represents one of the most suitable plots of the AOC Maranges, located on the southeast-facing slope of the hilly area of the denomination, at about 300 meters above sea level. Domaine des Rouges Queues is located right within the municipality of Sampigny-les-Maranges and is managed by the couple Jean-Yves and Isabelle Vantay through a genuine and authentic approach. All the estate's labels feature different species of birds.
‘Clos Roussots’ Maranges Premier Cru from Domaine des Rouges Queues constitutes a pure expression of Pinot Noir from a vineyard planted in 1990, cultivated according to the principles of biodynamic agriculture. The vines, situated at about 300 meters in altitude, enjoy a southeast exposure and are rooted in soils rich in marl and limestone. The harvest is carried out strictly by hand, accompanied by a meticulous selection of the bunches, which are then whole grapes are fermented in wooden vats for spontaneous alcoholic fermentation. Subsequently, the mass matures for several months in old oak barriques before bottling, which takes place without any clarification or filtration operations.
In the glass, the Maranges Premier Cru ‘Clos Roussots’ from the artisanal winery Domaine des Rouges Queues displays a cherry red robe with a garnet edge. Elegant and engaging the olfactory panorama, defined by aromas of red fruits, essence of violet and mint, enriched by dark hints of cedar, tobacco, and spices. Structured and intense on the palate, with the remarkable concentration that is well tamed by the fresh-salty shoulder and soft, silky tannins.
