Callmewine's Favourites
Organic and biodynamicThe Margaux 'Les Plantes' from Chateau Durfort Vivens is a Bordeaux-style red wine, young and juicy. To the nose it's reminiscent of ripe red fruit, together with soft notes of chocolate and vanilla, resulting from the long aging in oak barrels. Its lively and captivating sip is the perfect accompaniment to a dinner of first and second courses of meat, especially if typical of French cuisine!
The Margaux ‘Les Plantes’ from the renowned Bordeaux estate Château Durfort-Vivens is a red wine with a dynamic and balanced soul, skillfully showcasing the Margaux territory in a highly accessible manner. It is no coincidence that this bottle is crafted from grapes sourced from the estate's youngest vines, worked with the aim of offering an expression that is easier to read and immediately enjoyable. The ‘Les Plantes’ is part of the trilogy ‘Les Parcelles’, launched with the 2019 vintage and consisting of labels made from grapes from single plots specifically selected to highlight the nuances of the land cultivated by Durfort-Vivens.
Château Durfort-Vivens Margaux ‘Les Plantes’ is produced from a significant base of Cabernet Sauvignon, the flagship grape of the Margaux area, combined with smaller percentages of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The vines, cultivated following the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture, both certified, rest on soils characterized by a high presence of gravel and sand. Following the harvest, the clusters are immediately transferred to the winery for red vinification and the subsequent aging of 16 months in terracotta amphorae and oak barrels before the final bottling.
In appearance, ‘Les Plantes’ Château Durfort-Vivens Margaux shows a beautiful bright ruby red color. Vivid fruity perceptions of cherry and blackberry alternate on the nose with intriguing and deep spicy hints of vanilla and chocolate, enriched by subtle balsamic notes in the background. The palate is soft and medium-bodied, with a silky and well-integrated tannic structure that is accompanied by juicy freshness in a very pleasant finish that invites further tastings.
