Domaine Hadrien Houbert's Morgon 'Roche Pilée' is a pure Gamay produced in Burgundy on land just above the village of Villié-Morgon. It dresses the glass in an intense ruby red colour, while the nose offers fruity notes of wild strawberries, blueberries and raspberries. Fresh and elegant, it is the result of semi-carbonic maceration and a year of barrel ageing that contribute to the development of a certain organoleptic balance and a long persistence. Try it with lasagna alla Bolognese!

The Morgon ‘Roche Pilée’ from Domaine Hadrien Houbert is a Gamay from Beaujolais with a bold and robust structure, which does not preclude the peculiar liveliness that characterizes the wines of the region. The lieu-dit ‘Roche Pilée’ is located right at the gates of the village of Villié-Morgon, the heart of the cru that takes its name. The French expression “roche pilée” means “broken rock,” indicating the characteristic minerality of the wines coming from this lieu-dit. As with other wines from Hadrien, the label features one of the plants used by the winemaker in his phytotherapy practices, aimed at enhancing the natural resistances of the vine through the use of plant extracts.

The Morgon Domaine Hadrien Houbert ‘Roche Pilée’ is an expression of pure Gamay grapes grown on soils rich in decomposed granite, located at an altitude of about 300 meters above sea level. The agronomic management embraces the principles of organic farming, integrated with biodynamic practices, while in the cellar the alcoholic fermentation is entrusted to indigenous yeasts only, accompanied by semi-carbonic maceration in stainless steel tanks. For the subsequent aging phase, small French oak barrels are used, containers in which the wine rests for about a year before the final bottling, carried out excluding filtration operations.

The ‘Roche Pilée’ Morgon from Domaine Hadrien Houbert is of intense ruby red color. On the nose, vivid fruity aromas of raspberry, cherry, and wild strawberry alternate with floral hints of rose, all enriched by spicy and mineral accents. Fresh and rather structured sip, with remarkable finesse and drinkability, with the ripe tannin contributing to defining the persistent fruity finish.
