Romano Dogliotti of La Caudrina presents the Moscato d’Asti ‘La Galeisa’, a sweet semi-sparkling wine characterized by an appreciable aromatic complexity. ‘La Galeisa’ is the second label produced by Romano Dogliotti, the owner of the winery who in 1989 harvested the Moscato Bianco grapes from a single cru, creating this wine that has now become emblematic for La Caudrina, a winemaking reality in Castiglione Tinella. Romano is one of the figures who has significantly contributed to the enhancement of Moscato d’Asti since he took over the family winery in the late 1970s. “Galeisa” is the name of the hill from which the clusters destined for this cru come.
The Moscato d’Asti La Caudrina ‘La Galeisa’ is made from only Moscato Bianco grapes coming from a vineyard planted in 1970 on calcareous-sandy soils, located at an altitude of 320 meters above sea level. The clusters are strictly hand-picked and then immediately softly pressed, with the resulting must subjected to clarification and filtration processes aimed at obtaining a brilliant liquid.The mass is then stored in refrigerated cells until the moment of fermentation, which takes place in an autoclave at controlled temperature with the help of selected yeasts.
‘La Galeisa’ Moscato d’Asti by La Caudrina has a deep straw yellow color, almost golden. The olfactory range is intense and complex, defined by inviting notes of white peach, lychee, sage, and mint, punctuated by sweet aromas of white flowers. Sweet and fresh on the palate, with a creamy effervescence that enhances the final fruity flavor.
