Nebbiolo Principiano 2023
Artisanal"Coste" by Principiano is a young and fresh Nebbiolo from Alba, matured only in steel for about 10 months. It presents itself as a gentle, juicy red wine with great drinkability, wrapped in fruity and floral aromas with echoes of underbrush.
Nebbiolo is one of the products with which Principiano expresses its love for the Langhe of Piemonte. It is indeed a winery that is strongly territorial, focusing on the genuineness of its wines, always made without the use of synthetic products or sulfur dioxide, and with a very personal philosophical approach that reflects Ferdinando's beliefs. The “Coste” is a young-profile red wine, where Nebbiolo presents itself with light traits, making the drinking smooth and pleasant. Thanks to the aging process, which, for this label, is carried out only in steel, in order to maintain the crisp fruity profile on the nose.
This Nebbiolo from Ferdinando Principiano is made from pure grapes of one of the most renowned red grape varieties in the entire Italian wine scene. The vines of this variety, which are around 40 years old, are cultivated by Principiano in vineyards exposed to the south and southwest, at about 350 meters above sea level. The grapes, once harvested and taken to the winemaking facilities, ferment alcoholically in steel tanks thanks to the presence of indigenous yeasts, where they then remain to age for a period of 10 months. Once maturation is complete, the wine is ready to be bottled.
The Nebbiolo Principiano presents itself with a ruby red color, typically light. The array of aromas that dances around the nose tells of winey and fruity notes, with some more oaky touches as well. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, elegant, round, with a fine sip, decidedly inviting thanks to a beautiful balance. A red with which the Principiano winery confirms its bond with the Langhe of Piemonte, expressed through the queen grape of this terroir, Nebbiolo.
