Principiano Ferdinando
In the heart of the magnificent Langhe, a land of ancient beauty and winemaking tradition, lies the winery of Ferdinando Principiano. A son of this land, Ferdinando embodies the authenticity and passion of the winemakers who have cultivated the vineyards on these hills for generations. In 1993, with a degree in oenology in hand and enthusiasm in his heart, Ferdinando takes the reins of the family business. From the very beginning, he embarks on a journey of discovery and innovation, guided by his deep connection to the land and his poetic vision of oenology, but it is in 2003 that he fully converts to this genuine production philosophy: he sells the barriques and buys large Slavonian oak barrels, eliminates all synthetic products, and abandons the use of sulfur dioxide.
Ferdinando Principiano is an authentic, passionate, and courageous winemaker. His wine production is unique in its kind because it is entirely founded on love for the land and respect for nature. Just think that in this winery they still stomp the grapes by foot, the stems are kept in the must, only indigenous yeasts are used, and pump-overs are performed manually. All this without caring about certification or any label because, for him, it is the result that matters. In the must, only indigenous yeasts are used, and the pump-overs are done manually. All this is done without concern for certification or any label because, for him, it is the result that matters. Working in harmony with nature, he allows the vines to express their maximum potential, without artificial interference. His wines are slow and meticulously crafted, reflecting the rhythm of nature and the authenticity of the territory.
Ferdinando Principiano is in love with his land, and this love shines through in his labels, which embody the very soul of the Langhe. His Barolo, coming from prestigious crus like Ravera, Boscaretto, and Pian Romualda, are true oenological jewels, characterized by an engaging and energetic character. But the range doesn't stop here: from Dolcetto to Barbera, from red wines to whites, each bottle carries with it the history and tradition of this magnificent territory. Ferdinando's wines are authentic, sincere, and respectful of the terroir, a tribute to the wonderful wine heritage of the Langhe.
