The Nebbiolo "Roccabella" is a red wine from the Langhe with great expressiveness and pleasant body, coming from the homonymous vineyard of one and a half hectares near Roddi. It colors the glass with its red cloak that shifts towards garnet, spreading aromas of red flowers and berries, cherry and nutmeg, cloves, and peppery breezes. Fresh and agile at first impact, with a well-defined tannic texture and impeccable balance between structure and drinkability.

The Nebbiolo ‘Roccabella’ from the family-run winery Eugenio Bocchino represents a fresh and balanced interpretation of this noble black grape variety. The grapes that form the basis of the bottle come from the municipality of Roddi, which is part of the 11 municipalities where Barolo production is permitted. Behind the wines of this small Piedmontese reality, founded in 1997 in the Santa Maria district of La Morra, lies a winemaking spirit made of artisanal passion and authenticity, which adopts the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture in respect of the ecosystem and the unique expression of the terroir.

Eugenio Bocchino ‘Roccabella’ Langhe Nebbiolo is a pure expression of the same-name variety, coming from one and a half hectares of vineyards located in Roddi, on clayey and calcareous soils at about 400 meters above sea level. Agronomic operations are carried out according to the principles of organic agriculture, with practices of biodynamic farming. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel and is operated by only indigenous yeasts, with a strong 2 months of contact between the must and the skins. Once this phase of the winemaking process is completed, the mass is first transferred to concrete, where it rests for between 6 and 10 months, and then to large used barrels for 18 months.

The Langhe Nebbiolo ‘Roccabella’ by Eugenio Bocchino has a light ruby red color with garnet flashes. The inviting olfactory panorama is able to evoke seductive aromas of red fruits, cherry, and violet, associated with deeper notes of nutmeg, pepper, and underbrush. On the palate, it is balanced and expressive, with excellent freshness and pleasant tannins. A more immediate Nebbiolo compared to the “older brother” Barolo, which, however, does not skimp on elegance and depth.
