Bocchino Eugenio

The winery of Eugenio Bocchino is a small Piedmontese reality, producing artisanal wines of excellent quality, in one of the most famous and renowned areas of Italian enology, cradle for centuries of an extraordinary tradition. The estate is located, in fact, in the heart of the wonderful territory of the Langhe, particularly in the Frazione Santa Maria Serra of the municipality of La Morra. The north-western area of the famous Barolo denomination is celebrated for the finesse and elegance of its reds, which, thanks to particular pedoclimatic conditions, express some of the best excellences of the entire production area.

The project was born about twenty-five years ago, and today the property extends over an area of about 5 and a half hectares, with plots also located in Verduno, Roddi, and Alba. The vineyards are situated at an altitude between 300 and 400 meters above sea level, in an area characterized by a mild and always ventilated climate, allowing excellent ripening of the grapes. The soils are particularly precious. They consist of marls calcareous-clay soils with the presence of sands, which for centuries have proven ideal for the cultivation of Nebbiolo. The noble Piedmontese grape variety is the undisputed protagonist of the territory and is the basis of almost all the wines of the estate, both Barolo and Langhe Nebbiolo. However, there are also some vineyards of Barbera, another grape that has always been present in the Langhe.

The estate is managed with great passion by Eugenio and his wife Cinzia, who work personally in the vineyard and live this adventure with the awareness of having the fortune and privilege of being in one of the most important places in the viticulture of our peninsula. Respect for the natural environment has led the company to adopt, since 2002, the protocol of organic farming and since 2009 the practices of biodynamics. A conscious choice, made in unsuspecting times, motivated by a strong adherence to the principles of healthy and environmentally respectful viticulture. Even in the winery, very simple winemaking practices are used to enhance the quality of grapes of excellent quality.
