The Pelaverga "Divicaroli" from Cascina Melognis is a light red of great pleasantness. The Pelaverga from the Saluzzo hills is a different grape variety compared to that of the Langhe: it is called Grosso, an epithet that derives from the size of the berry. The 'Divicaroli' offers elegant floral hints along with rich spicy aromas, typical of the grape variety. On the palate, it is light, with persistent fragrance and freshness. Perfect to drink immediately, a true everyday wine

The small artisanal reality Cascina Melognis presents the Colline Saluzzesi ‘Divicaroli’ Pelaverga, a bottle with a light and refreshing taste that best represents the attributes of Pelaverga Grosso. This variety differs from the Pelaverga Piccolo cultivated in the Langhe, particularly in Verduno, with which, despite the name, it shares no genetic link. Pelaverga Grosso is a traditional grape variety from the Saluzzo area that owes its name to the size of the berries, introduced to the territory as early as the 8th century by a group of monks who founded a convent in Pagno. The wine produced is rather pale in color and is characterized by pleasant and delicate aromas of red fruits, as well as a light and low-alcohol taste.

‘Divicaroli’ Pelaverga Colline Saluzzesi Cascina Melognis is a pure expression of Pelaverga Grosso from vines cultivated in accordance with the principles of organic farming at an altitude of 400 meters above sea level on acidic soils characterized by an abundant presence of skeleton and clay. Towards mid-October, manual harvesting of the clusters begins, which are vinified in red in stainless steel tanks through spontaneous alcoholic fermentation and 20 days of maceration on the skins. After about 6 months of maturation always in steel, the wine is finally bottled.

In the glass, the Pelaverga ‘Divicaroli’ Colline Saluzzesi from the Piedmontese reality of Cascina Melognis shows a light ruby red appearance. The aromatic spectrum evokes aromas of cherry and rose petals accompanied by pleasant hints of spices. Light and balanced on the palate, where the crisp freshness is associated with a delicate tannic structure. Very pleasant is the fragrant persistence on the tasting finish.
