The Per'e Palumm from the Cenatiempo winery is a red wine from Campania produced on the island of Ischia from a local clone of the Piedirosso grape. It stands out for its multifaceted aromatic bouquet ranging from ripe fruits to fresh violets. On the palate, it surprises with its juiciness, great drinkability, and delicate tannic structure.

The Campanian red Per’e Palumm is born on the island of Ischia, where Cenatiempo is located, from a local clone of the Piedirosso grape. It is a wine whose aromas tell of a fruity and floral soul, opening to a young and carefree sip, perfect for pairing with various recipes and ingredients at the table. A label that tells of a historical viticulture – already for the ancient Romans, Ischia was considered a particularly fertile land – and difficult, where terracing and dry stone walls dominate the landscape, hinting at the difficulty of work among the rows and the great spirit of sacrifice that accompanies the daily work of the winery.

The Per’e Palumm is a wine that the Cenatiempo winery produces from a grape variety particularly important for the terroir of Campania, the Piedirosso, which in Ischia presents a clone locally called “per’e palumm”. The vines of this variety obviously grow on the volcanic soils that characterize the terroir of the island, in different vineyard parcels. During the harvest, the bunches are selected with care, and, after destemming, the berries are gently pressed; the must obtained from this operation is fermented in stainless steel containers, with a brief maceration on the skins. This is followed by aging, during which the wine remains for several months to mature, both in cement and in steel. At the end of aging, the wine is ready to be bottled and marketed.

This red wine Per’e Palumm reveals itself visually with a typically ruby color. The range of aromas that develops on the nose highlights a texture where fresh fruit plays an important role, aided by light touches that recall the floral, particularly the violet. On the palate, it is of light structure, flowing thanks to a drinkable sip, in which the tannins are subtle and finely integrated into the overall body of the wine. A label with which the Ischian winery of Cenatiempo gives us a nice joker for the table.
