"Pian Alto" is an intense and structured red wine from the Colli Berici made from Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Carmenere, aged for 36 months in new barrels and barriques. Spicy, balsamic, and vegetal aromas typical of the grape varieties used integrate harmoniously with hints of berries, cherries, and sweet spices. The taste is vigorous and deep, with good freshness and smooth tannins.
A blend of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, to which a small percentage of Carmenere is added, the “Pian Alto” is a red wine whose aromas, broad and layered, represent a truly exciting business card. The tasting experience continues, then telling of a concentrated and vigorous sip, the result of the long aging process first in barrique and then in large casks. The “Pian Alto” Giannitessari is born from a skillful blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Carmenere, a grape variety of Albanian origins brought to French territory by the ancient Romans during the imperial era. The grapes, which are born and grow in Guyot-trained vineyards, are harvested by hand, and once they arrive at the facilities dedicated to winemaking, they ferment in steel for about 12 days. Then follows the phase of aging, first carried out for 24 months in new French barriques and for an additional 12 months in large oak casks. At the end of maturation, the wine is ready to be bottled and marketed.
The “Pian Alto” is a red wine that impresses with its beautiful ruby color, crossed by veins that recall garnet tones. The nose is filled with intense olfactory notes, organized around fruity notes that shift towards balsamic and spicy. On the palate, it has excellent structure, is energetic, with a sip where the tannins are well integrated and the drinking experience develops smoothly.
