The Pinot Grigio Riserva by Renato Keber is an intense, rich, and elegant version of this classic grape from Collio. Today, Pinot Grigio is experiencing a phase of enormous international success, and Renato Keber's label stands out distinctly from the rest of the wines for its absolute pursuit of quality. The selection of the best grapes and a long aging process allow for the creation of a full-bodied white wine with dense and complex aromas. Harmonious fruity notes combine with delicate spicy sensations, giving the wine a soft and enveloping character.
The Pinot Grigio Riserva wine is produced in one of the most suitable areas of Collio Goriziano. Renato Keber's winery is located in Zegla, near Cormons, just a few kilometers from the Slovenian border. The estate spans about fifteen hectares and is managed with a craftsmanship spirit and the goal of producing great wines, in line with the noble tradition of the territory. The wonderful exposures of the vineyards and the temperature variations between day and night allow for the Pinot Grigio matures by accumulating a rich aromatic profile. The soils, made up of the famous Flysch of Cormons, known in Friulian as “ponca”, are characterized by limestone and sandstone sedimentations, and are stony, well-draining, and rich in mineral substances precious for the vine. The grapes are managed in the winery with the aim of always highlighting the richness of varietal aromas and the savory and mineral nuances of the terroir. This approach allows for the creation of genuine and true wines.
The white Pinot Grigio Riserva by Renato Keber is one of the most interesting interpretations of Collio Goriziano. In this area, indeed, the grape variety has always expressed itself at high levels. At the end of the harvest, the grapes undergo destemming and a brief maceration on the skins. This is followed by a very gentle pressing and fermentation in steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Finally, it matures for a period of 12 months on fine lees, with 10% in barrique and the rest in steel. Before being released to the market, it ages for 24 months in the bottle. It appears a deep yellow color with slight coppery reflections.olfactory profile is broad and fascinating, with aromas of peach, ripe white fruit, slight floral hints and herbal notes, soft spicy sensations. On the palate, it has a good structure, with a balanced, rich, and refined sip that unfolds towards a savory and spicy finish, with good taste persistence.
