Ribeiro 'Colleita No 9 Branco' Cume do Avia 2021
Artisanal
Organic and biodynamicThe Ribeiro 'Colleita No 9 Branco' Cume do Avia is a white wine produced in Ribeiro, one of the most vocated areas for viticulture in Spain. It comes from a blend of five native grape varieties and, in its aromas, expresses all the elegance of the Mediterranean: notes of lemon, herbs and hints of the sea blend with delicate hints of flowers and white-fleshed fruit. The fresh, flowing and pleasantly mineral sip makes it an excellent wine to pair with summer aperitifs or fish and shellfish dinners
The Ribeiro ‘Colleita No 9 Branco’ is a white wine endowed with a vibrant mineral verve produced by the Cume do Avia winery following sustainable and genuine practices. Established in 1932, the Denominacion de Origen Ribeiro is based on traditional white and black grape varieties, often grown on characteristic terraces known as “socalcos” or “bocaribeiras”. Here, viticulture was introduced by the Romans over two millennia ago, while from the Middle Ages until the 18th century, the area was known for its sweet wines, consumed by passing pilgrims during their journeys to Santiago de Compostela.
The ‘Colleita No 9 Branco’ Ribeiro from the artisanal reality Cume do Avia originates from a blend of traditional grape varieties Treixadura, Albariño, Loureira, Lado, and Caiño Branco. The vines are over 15 years old and are planted on wide terraces located between 290 and 310 meters above sea level, with exposure from south to southwest. The soils are rocky, sandy, and clayey, of granodioritic nature, and the agronomic management follows the principles of certified organic farming integrated with the use of biodynamic preparations. Manual harvesting is followed by white winemaking through spontaneous alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks thanks to the sole presence of indigenous yeasts. The subsequent aging phase also takes place in steel and lasts for 5-6 months until the final bottling.
